My story
I grew up in New York’s Times Square right in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen, born to parents who were actors. Shortly after finishing up my military service I went to the City University of New York. While studying, I
got a job working at a movie camera repair shop in Mid-Town Manhattan. This
experience allowed me to become technically proficient in all movie cameras
used on sets around the world today. Shortly after graduating, I landed a job working
in the camera department of Law and Order
SVU. This is where I found a love for photography and became obsessed with
lighting techniques. Working in such a high-stress, big set environment taught
me to deal with pressure and to pay attention to detail. Once moving to Austin,
I got a job working for different wedding production companies for video and
film. I eventually started Mitchell Bahr Weddings and finally found my niche. While
film and video are my passions, still-photography is my love. I love photographing weddings! Weddings allow me to cover every kind of shot, adapt to different lighting conditions on the fly and engage with new lovely people every week. It's a blessing to be able to work in the wedding industry and an
honor to be an important part of a pinnacle moment in a couple’s relationship.
